I have over 35 years of experience in law enforcement. My current duties include managing the daily operations of the Bladensburg Police Department. I oversee the Patrol Division, Special Operations Division, and Internal Affairs. The Divisions within the Bladensburg Police Department include the Criminal Investigations Division, Special Assignment Team, Canine Unit, Traffic Unit, Community Action Team, Patrol, and Dispatch. I attend community meetings and our agency host numerous community events. We are a community-oriented police department. I previously served as the District V Division Commander, Prince George's County Police Department, prior to my retirement in January 2022. My duties included ensuring continuous patrol function and sufficient staffing within the District. Assume command and respond to all major and unusual incidents. Manage the District's operating budget. Monitor crime data and trends and develop crime prevention strategies. Develop strategies to obtain Departmental goal and objectives. Develop and maintain partnerships with citizens to assist in finding solutions to community problems. Developing trust between the police department and the community. Ensure the development of knowledge and skill levels of subordinate supervisors and officers. Conduct public presentations and attend community meetings. Ensure that all necessary and appropriate personnel, equipment, and data inspections are performed. Attend weekly command staff meetings and review crime trends and crime prevention strategies.
