About Celeste Jackson

Celeste Jackson is a Community Psychologist with a clinical speciality in behavioral health and a restorative justice background. Her research interest includes; children of incarcerated parents, mass incarceration, restorative justice, disparities in education and program evaluation. Celeste completed her doctoral studies at National Louis University in Community Psychology and her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling as well as a Bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As a Program Monitor for the State of Illinois, Celeste is responsible for highly technical tasks related to completing audits of state funded substance abuse provider facilities in Illinois by reviewing clinical records, policies, procedures and other agency protocol to ensure all services meet state outlined criteria. As a Licensed Professional Counselor. She utilizes an integrative therapeutic model to engage with clients for optimal outcomes. Incorporating foundational perspectives of Relational and Person-Centered Therapy with elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to truly make the therapeutic process an individual wholistic experience for each client. She believes that each encounter is an opportunity to grow, build and challenge ourselves and she strives to set the platform for clients to come and do just that in every session. Populations of focus include: individuals, groups, families, adolescents, couples and court mandated clients. While areas of focus include: anxiety, depression, relational concerns, stress, grief and anger her current specializations include working with youth and young adults dealing with single event or episodic trauma and life changing events.
