About Charlene Warwick

As the Emotional Support Manager, I oversee and coordinate all our 'Pain into Power' emotional support services. My responsibilities include conducting all initial screenings for victims/survivors who are seeking our support to determine their suitability for our services and how best we can help. In addition, I am also responsible for recruiting and onboarding our incredible volunteer ambassadors, soon to be a total of 40. They are the lifeblood of TMOF, and my role includes conducting all necessary checks to ensure each one is suitable to work with those we support and that their views align with our values, and they will fit well within our amazing team. Leading this process means I get to know them very well and hence know instantly which ambassador will be best suited to each survivor we support. This is a key part of my role, and one I take great pride in. It means I can thoughtfully match every survivor with the ambassador best suited to support their individual needs throughout the duration of their time with TMOF. Another key part of my role is delivering training to new ambassadors throughout the 12 week onboarding process, ensuring they are fully equipped to support our brave survivors. Their training continues after induction, and I identify and facilitate further training to keep their skills up-to-date and relevant to the issues the people we support bring to us, including bringing in speakers from other organisations to enhance our learning. I always ensure the quality of our service meets our high standards and that we address any issues that may arise promptly. Supervision and welfare checks of ambassadors are within my key responsibilities, and I ensure the well-being of our team is carefully monitored and they feel fully supported. The open-door policy we have ensures they can confidently reach out to me with any issues, whether professional or personal. With the full support of TMOF I am currently studying for a level 3 in Leadership and Managing Volunteers with Lancashire University to enhance my own professional development. This will allow me to better support the organisation as we continue to evolve and grow. Being part of a Foundation that strives to support and make a life changing difference to the brave survivors who put their trust in the TMOF family is truly 'my kind of place’ and I’m extremely proud of the work that we do helping those who come to us to begin their journey as they begin to ‘transform their pain into power’.
