About Charles William Mkude

Seven years working as a pro bono human rights lawyer with a national NGO focusing on land, labour, family, inheritance rights as well as criminal law, then transitioned to migrants' rights thereby working with the UN Migration Agency in programme management. Here again, it has been over ten years, mainly working in the East and Horn of Africa region working with national governments on policy and legislation formulation, migrants protection and assistance, training of government officials on migration management issues as well as humanitarian assistance during crisis. In my career, I have been able to interact with "clients"(legal aid and migrants) who are vulnerable and in need of assistance mainly from detentions and courts of law. It has been rewarding working for this population. I'm a solution oriented person, fair team player, believer in diversity, inclusion, and above all a feminist. in my entire career honest and integrity have been my mantra. Diplomacy forms another key attribute I live by.
