About Cheryl Spann

My name is Cheryl Spann, Training Coordinator for Howard University School of Social Work. I am responsible for providing continuing, education and professional development trainings for Licensed Clinical Social Workers within the the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. As a Training Coordinator for a small non-proit organization in the District of Columbia known as The Person Center I was allowed to work with African Immigrant women, children and families that were survivors of domestic violence. The Person Center was a project of Ujima, Incorporated a National Resource Center for Afircan American women in the Black community and across the Diaspora. I was responsible for providing training to and for DC’s Victim Assistance Network that works with survivors of intimate and domestic violence across the DC. The Person Center also provides training and technical assistance with culturally specific organizations locally and nationally.
