I seek to make AI models better for all users. I’m broadly interested in AI alignment - alignment to specific users (personalization), user groups (e.g cultures) and to general human values (3Hs) My research is in two fold: 1. To improve user satisfaction with AI models by providing better personalization that takes into account user specific features — such as background, profession etc. Beyond that, user goals and expectations are dynamic, so how do we even ground models to these implicit user latent features? In optimizing for personalization how do we ensure robustness (such that user preferences does not affect the factuality of the models nor raise any safety concerns).
