About Chloe Apter

I am a dedicated professional with a wealth of experience in the field of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). As a Commissioner for SEND at Southwark Council, I work on efforts to ensure that every child's and young person's unique needs are met. My career has been defined by a diverse range of roles, from research and project management to co-production and healthcare publishing. Having worked on the frontline of social care and within children's SEND statutory services, I understand the challenges and opportunities within this field intimately. Beyond my professional endeavors, I bring personal experience to my work. I am multiply neurodivergent, and I have faced the complexities of mental illness and long-term conditions. This unique perspective fuels my passion for patient-led initiatives and involvement. I am committed to driving positive change for those whose voices may not always be listened to, fostering inclusivity and equity.
