About Chloe Sackur

I am currently studying for a master's degree in Podcasting at City St George's University of London's School of Communication & Creativity. It's an exciting new course that combines traditional journalism skills in media law and ethics with audio/video production and social media marketing. There's a huge emphasis on idea creation and developing storytelling abilities, with real-world applications and industry insights. Before this, I spent many years in publishing as a children's book editor, working my way up to Senior Commissioning Editor at an independent publisher. I acquired new titles for the list, helped authors and artists to develop their stories from first idea to finished book, and worked with publicists, marketers, and rights and sales managers to get those books out into the world and into the hands of kids and teens. In this time I sharpened my skills in copyediting, proofreading, project management, presentation, communication and much more. My titles were Book of the Year picks across the media, winners of the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize, Laugh Out Loud Book Award and the Diverse Book Award, and I had titles shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal, Nero Book Award and a host of regional prizes. I was also shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award and commissioned and edited a New York Times annual bestseller. Throughout my editorial career, I worked with celebrities, international organisations and best-loved children's authors. I'm now looking to use all my storytelling experience in the audio world to create compelling, quality listening in the UK's flourishing podcast industry.
