About Chris Borrill

I joined Thales in 2001 after a career in the Royal Air Force. As a logistics specialist in the RAF, I enjoyed a diverse career that included tours at frontline operational units, a liaison role in the USA, as well as roles in the introduction to service of many key equipments such as the RAF Airborne Early Warning aircraft. I joined Thales to develop their service offer to military customers. Initially, heading the Thales contribution to the Sea King Integrated Operational Support (SKIOS) programme, working closely with the MOD, and industry partners. The success of this pathfinder programme propelled me into a business development role for military customer services and then responsibility for developing support strategy for Thales Aerospace’s military customers worldwide. With Thales UK seen as an innovative leader in developing integrated service offers to the military, I was able to help translate these concepts into active programmes in Europe and further afield. In June 2008 I was appointed as the UK Aerospace Services Director, with full P&L responsibility. In August 2010 I was appointed as Vice President Capability Solutions with responsibilities for the overall Thales governance within the FSTA programme, and the development of other complex, multi-party capability offers such as Marshall, LongSAR and the UK A400M Training Service. In October 2012, I was appointed Vice President Training Solutions, a newly formed business unit combining my previous role and the military training and simulation business. I am thrilled to head up such a diverse and capable business. With 9 Training Centres in the UK, a global customer base, a portfolio of PFI, and JV companies, an exciting range of products and technology and a passionate and talented workforce of nearly 400 people, it's a dynamic and exciting prospect.
