About Chris Chan

With over 15 years of experience in academic libraries, I am a passionate and dedicated leader who strives to provide high-quality and user-centered services and collections. As the University Librarian at HKBU, I oversee all aspects of the Library's operations and work with Cluster Heads on the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance our offerings and support the university's mission and vision. One of my core competencies and areas of interest is information literacy, which I believe is essential for empowering students and faculty to navigate, evaluate, and use information effectively and ethically. I have published several articles on this topic and have administered a standardized test of information literacy at the institutional level. I also have extensive experience in designing and delivering instructional programmes, facilitating the use of library information resources, and liaising with academic and administrative units on campus.
