Background
About Chris Lau
As Head of Hong Kong, Commercial at Olea, I leverage my MBA degree and my extensive investment banking/corporate banking experience to originate and distribute trade finance assets that offer attractive returns and positive impact. Olea is a digitised platform that connects businesses requiring supply chain financing with investors who seek alternative asset classes. With over 10+ years of working in the banking industry, I have developed strong skills in relationship management, business development, financial analysis, risk management, and project management. I have covered various sectors, such as real estate, conglomerates, gaming, general industries & SMEs, and provided solutions ranging from syndicated loans, global markets, ECM, DCM, trade products, to corporate investments. I have also been a pioneer and an advocate for ESG financing products, such as green bonds, green loans, sustainability-linked financing, and KPI-linked hedging. I have successfully completed multiple deals with notable clients based in HK/China/APAC region.
