About Christopher Head

I’ve been working in some form of written communication - be it as a journalist, an editor, a bid writer or a copywriter - since snagging a job as a film reviewer and illustrator on the school newspaper back when I was just a little boy. Trust me, that was a long time ago. Since that moment, I’ve actually studied journalism properly, along with advertising, filmmaking, radio, photography, graphic design and even screenwriting; and attempted to embark on some sort of career; which when I was a young man, simply meant moving to London and hoping for the best. It worked out. I started in seriously high-level financial journalism – hedge funds, off shore tax havens etc – helped some friends get a film magazine off the ground and then landed a job as the editor of a national business magazine. Over the three years that followed I learned how to do everything from building and managing a team to developing a dynamic website, being the public face of a publication, keeping a sales team under control (no, we can’t sell the front cover) and acting as the buffer between the publisher and the workforce. In 2005, I decided to cross over the dark side – advertising – and try my hand as a copywriter, and it all went surprisingly well. That progressed to bid writing, which is like advertising that can be justified, in as much as the success of a campaign can be measured by whether or not the company you’re working for has just landed the contract worth £100 million+ Once you’ve crossed over to the dark side, crossing The Channel is easy and so I currently reside in France and, having worked for a Publicis-owned English-language newswire service, trying to bring some sort of depth of knowledge to the latest happenings in the worlds of consumer technology and the automotive industry, I'm now focusing all of my skills on helping Foundever (formerly Sitel Group) build its brand message globally.
