There are always reasons for why workflow happens a certain way, and I have placed a focus on finding out why it is that way, and how I can improve my own input.Attention to DetailLooking at the bigger picture includes making sure you spotted the small details as well. Particularly from my work building scenery, I have learned to triple check myself and ask for clarification on any unsure variables. Carefully reading any guidelines or blueprints can save a lot of trouble down the line.Physical AbilityFlexibility and strength are important in every job, physical or not, and I make sure to stretch regularly to avoid injury or soreness. Many stagehand jobs have each worker lift a thousand or more pounds a day and stay on their feet for over 10 hours, and so I’ve gotten used to heavy and repetitive physical motion, as well as how to prevent injury doing so.SafetyIn every job I do, safety is of the utmost. We are all at work to do a safe and effective job, and OSHA guidelines are important in having a long and healthy work life. I am always looking around to stay aware of my surroundings, especially when any kind of heavy equipment is involved. I wear proper personal protective equipment and keep safety guidelines in the forefront of my mind when doing any kind of hazardous work.
