About Cindy Vandenberg

I am a human resource professional dedicated to improving employee wellness, trust, and collaboration in organizations. By building relationships and understanding people's unique strengths, goals, and challenges, we can bring out the best in each other and create collaborative teams to accomplish strategic goals. I enjoy learning and looking at things from different perspectives, as it allows us to grow, manage change, and innovate. I am a positive, goal-oriented individual who excels at organizing, planning, and problem-solving. Over my life, I have developed a passion for health, wellness, and connection. This passion spilled over into my academic studies and changed my major; I had originally planned on going into finance/accounting but discovered human resources and was immediately intrigued to learn more about the people side of business. I have six years of experience in different human resources roles in the banking and construction industries. I have lots of great life experiences as a stay-at-home mom. During this time, I have strengthened many skills such as patience, listening, empathy, juggling busy schedules, supporting the growth and development of children, calming anxiety, building relationships and support networks with other parents, fundraising, and volunteering in many different roles. I have a great perspective on the challenges parents face with work/life balance, the challenges of the sandwiched generation supporting both children and aging parents, the challenges of entering the workplace as a mature employee after a career break, and as a mom of teens/young adults, the challenges and pressure they face as they move into the workforce. I have recently completed the CPHR Academic Program, which includes nine online university-level human resource courses. I am working towards my CPHR designation and look forward to building my network and continuing to learn every day!
