About Cindy Warber

In August 2022 I retired after 28 years as a public high school science teacher. I am currently working part time for Young Life in a youth ministry role. I get to share about my Christian faith with kids who are seeking answers and hope. I am also self-employed looking to use my skills and experience to help high school students with any academic success. In addition to working in ministry, I can tutor students in all the sciences and basic math courses. I earned a Masters in Public Administration in 2015, and I have served in various leadership and science support roles at the building, district, and county levels. I have taught a variety of ages within the high school setting as well as many different types of students ranging from beginning level underclassmen in physical science to seniors taking AP biology. I've also been trained in Modeling Instruction and have helped facilitate a couple of Modeling workshops with AMTA. I have a passion for helping teens and bringing them to the feet of Jesus. I also want to use my 28 years of teaching experience to improve the quality of education in both public and private sectors. TEACHING SKILLS & PAST EXPERIENCES IN EDUCATION: I have used a wide variety of instructional practices. I have strong problem solving and critical thinking skills as well as an ability to multitask and make decisions quickly and rationally. I incorporate a great deal of technology in the classroom. I use inquiry labs and collaborate groups so students can practice various science skills. I have organized summer school science programs for Whaley Children's Home. I trained teachers in multiple Modeling Instruction workshops. I have worked in the Swartz Creek Education Association as a building Association Representative. I have served on multiple building level leadership committees and have led professional development for teachers of all grade levels for a variety of areas from technology support to specific secondary science instructional methods. I'm an ENTJ - Extrovert, warm, social, sees things in perspective of the bigger picture, uses logic and regards the long term goals when making critical decisions, and have an exceptional work ethic and multiple references over 30 consistent, committed years in public education.
