Background

About Clara Vaughan

I am a trained theatre practitioner and arts manager with a proven track record of leading the creative and business development of organisations. I have an interest in the applicability and integration of creative practices for problem solving, community building, communication and connection in a wide range of contexts, most particularly in the interests of social justice. My commitment to the amplification of underrepresented voices, perspectives and identities is evident in the roles I have fulfilled as the Artistic Director of READ College in the UK and the Head of the Market Theatre Laboratory in South Africa. I strive to use my strategic, artistic and community-building skills to contribute to people living fuller, more truthful and more connected lives by facilitating spaces for them to participate in and experience performance, storytelling and community.
