About Clare Lyons-Collins

I have worked in healthcare for 25 years, training as an Occupational Therapist specialising in Stroke and Head Injury and laterally in mental health, and practice now with people transitioning into retirement. I have always had an interest in both health and business and how they interact with each other. I completed an MBA at Henley Business school specialising in leadership derailment in the NHS. I have worked nationally on mental health policy, and led the development of the national improvement model for mental health for the NHS in England on behalf of NHS Improvement - Valued care in mental health- Improving for excellence. I successfully created a partnership between a mental health hospital in LIlle, France and a mental health trust in the North East of England through my work with the French embassy in London. I continues her relationship with the French embassy. I am a leadership fellow at St George’s House, Windsor Castle. I have worked with former secretary of state for health, Jeremy Hunt on mental health policy, orchestrating for him and NHS Improvement executive directors along with other MPs to complete their mental health first aid England training. This work led to the development of Every Mind Matters In 2020 I supported businesses in the Thames Valley region, by becoming a mental health consultant for the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce and featured in their inspiring women on International Women’s Day 2021 I chaired the mental health steering group for the chamber to support organisations to deliver the charter for mental health, which I was instrumental in creating I live in South West London with my husband and two children. I love rowing and have recently returned after a 20+ year break.
