About Clement Genty

I’m Clément Genty, Head of Research & Development at Vicard Tonnelleries, a company specializing in industrial innovation applied to cooperage. My goal is to blend traditional craftsmanship with modern technologies to make our industry more competitive. Alongside my role at Vicard, I continue my research and teaching activities, and I write books that explore the intersection of innovation, tradition, and sustainability. In addition to my professional career, I’m a military reservist, which helps me develop a strategic vision and strengthen my leadership skills. Passionate about the future of the Cognac industry, I’m always looking to diversify my expertise to address challenges and ensure the sector’s long-term sustainability. I hold a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers, where my research focused on the governance of the Internet and the valuation of intangible assets. I also have a degree in wine studies from the IUVV in Dijon and a WSET Level 2 certification in both wines and spirits. My career is driven by a passion for innovation and knowledge sharing, and I love passing on my insights to both my readers and students.
