About Cole Timonere

I am an experienced Clinical Director and PhD candidate with a proven track record of building and leading mental health and substance use programs across multiple facilities. My expertise lies in program development, clinical supervision, and operational leadership, with a focus on improving client outcomes, streamlining processes, and fostering a collaborative work culture. Throughout my career, I have successfully designed and launched full mental health tracks, including PHP and residential programs, while overseeing large multidisciplinary teams. I’ve managed multiple facilities simultaneously, including leading both Recreate Life Counseling and Allure Detox for six months, as well as overseeing RLC and Ohio RLC concurrently—demonstrating my ability to scale clinical operations while maintaining quality care. I specialize in working with the gender expansive and substance use populations and am deeply committed to education and advocacy. My contributions include authoring the Gender Identity Counseling Standards and Competencies featured in the 2021 American Mental Health Counseling Association (AMHCA) Standards and conducting workshops for mental health professionals, business leaders, and educators to enhance cultural competency. Currently, I am in the final stages of my PhD, with expected completion in August 2025, focusing on clinician competency in working with gender expansive populations. My goal is to leverage my academic and leadership background to step into an Executive Director or senior leadership role where I can influence large scale clinical strategy, program development, and organizational growth.
