About Colin Slack

Colin Slack is the Administrative/LMI Assistant at the Eastern Workforce Innovation Board. The organization provides Labour Market Information Support to employers, employment service provider partner agencies and persons who are seeking employment opportunities across the Southeast Region. It is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that receives funding from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. The Eastern Workforce Innovation Board produces an annual Local Labour Market Planning Report (LLMP) which is highly regarded and used extensively by organizations who are seeking funding opportunities by Provincial and Federal Ministries. The organization also provides a Labour Market Information (LMI) Help Desk, a tool which assists employment seekers to research available employment opportunities across our vast catchment area. Prior to accepting this role, Mr. Slack served as the Executive Director of Epilepsy South Eastern Ontario for 5 1/2 years, and was successful in attracting funding from the Ministry of Health through Ontario Health East. Epilepsy South Eastern Ontario is the only Epilepsy organization in the Province to receive funding from. As the former Children's Services Manager for the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, Colin is known to UCLG parnters. Prior to accepting this role, Mr. Slack was also the Executive Director of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Leeds Grenville, a role he successfully filled for 21 years. Mr.Slack was seconded by the Brockville General Hospital (BGH) to assist in the transfer of in/outpatient services from the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group. He assisted in completion of functional plans, as well as the successful transfer of services and siting for the Hospital. His responsibilities included Chairing the Human Services and Justice Coordinating Committee, Chairing the Lanark Leeds and Grenville Mental Health and Addictions Coalition for 20 years, Chairing the LEAD First Responder Training initiative as well as sitting on several community non-profit organization Boards. Mr. Slack is proud to have joined the Eastern Workforce Innovation Board which includes representatives from local businesses, Labour Groups, Visible minorities, persons with disabilities, Francophones and Education providers. The Board has an excellent staffing compliment including Executive Director FRank O'Hearn and Labour Marketing Information Consultant Sandra Wright.
