Dr. Connell Miller is the director of the brand new Northern Mesonet Project, an adjunct professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Western University, and the coordinator of the undergraduate summer internship program for the Canadian Severe Storms Laboratory. Previously, he was a researcher for the Northern Tornadoes Project, where he was responsible for operationalizing drone imagery to map the path of tornadoes. He also worked for the Northern Hail Project, where he was responsible for the deployment of a hail monitoring network across Calgary. His current research is focused on new ways to estimate wind speeds in tornadoes through remote sensing techniques such as debris trajectory analysis and vegetation indices.
