About Conor Patrick Haugh

I am an ecologist, environmental educator, and youth participation specialist. I coordinate the educational activities of BiOrbic, the Research Ireland Centre for Bioeconomy, based at University College Dublin (UCD). BiOrbic conducts interdisciplinary research on the circular bioeconomy, focusing on sustainable solutions in areas such as food systems, valorising waste, and climate action. I hold an MRes in Ecology and Environmental Biology from the University of Glasgow and am pursuing a PhD with UCD's School of Education. My research focuses on the role of capital in sustainability action. My career has focused on empowering young people through sustainability education. I have established youth advocacy programmes and advisory boards for environmental NGOs, coordinated vocational training for young people with learning disabilities, and designed and facilitated workshops on climate, agriculture, and sustainable living. As a consultant, I have supported both government and private sector clients in assessing and reducing their environmental impact. I bring a collaborative, systems-thinking approach to my work, drawing on my diverse experience to offer holistic perspectives. I am always keen to connect and co-create with others working towards a more sustainable future.
