About Constance Uyttebrouck

I am an architectural engineer who worked in the construction industry for five years before completing a PhD in architecture and urban planning at ULiège (FNRS fellowship). I joined LISER in 2023 as a Research Associate, where I lead the HypeRent research project (FNR CORE funding, PI) and contribute to the work of the Housing Observatory, a twenty-year collaboration with the Luxembourg Ministry of Housing. Besides, I am one of the co-coordinators of the ENHR WG on Housing and Young People. My research interests relate to new (shared) housing forms (for young people), mixed-use development, institutional frameworks and urban governance. I have also been involved as an external lecturer at the KU Leuven and the University of Luxembourg. My PhD (2017-2020) investigated the ontologies and governance of ‘live-work mix’. During this project, I spent three months in Amsterdam (AMS Institute) and three months in Stockholm (KTH). I spent my first postdoc (2021-2023) at the Department of Architecture, KU Leuven where I worked on the NeW-BLIV project (Post-Covid Housing Supply in Brussels). During this period, I also participated in the ESPON IRiE project with colleagues from TU Delft (Department of Urbanism).
