About Corey Thompson

Program management professional with over five years of experience in international development, education, and training based in the Washington, D.C. area. I have a strong background in designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that support capacity building in international development and public health settings. I currently work at USAID, where I manage large-scale training initiatives and cultivate strategic partnerships with senior leaders, government agencies, and community organizations to enhance workforce development. I have extensive experience in program coordination, stakeholder engagement, and logistical execution, ensuring the seamless implementation of high-impact initiatives. My work has involved managing grants, designing evaluation metrics, and developing reports to highlight program effectiveness. I am a learner at heart and I am deeply committed to fostering public health programs that empower individuals and communities. I am a returned Peace Corps Volunteer and I hold a B.A. in International Affairs and Spanish, with minors in Humanitarian Affairs and Latin American & Caribbean Studies from James Madison University. I am currently completing my Master of Public Health in Global Environmental Health at George Washington University, where I focus on the health impacts of climate change on vulnerable populations and strategies for mitigation and adaptation.
