About Cornelius Bella

I am involved in development and supporting various health care projects. At Newham PCT as a Mental Health/Hospital Specialist Advisor, my first project was to set-up a mental health stop smoking service immediately after the national smoking ban. Despite the various challenges and obstacles faced as this was first of its kind and there was no readily available information, I was able to create the required relationships, and put the necessary structures in place and delivered on the project within deadline. I have since then played a major role in supporting the implementation of the Mental Health CQUIN for South West London Mental Heath Trust. I am a certified trainer and I am very passionate about training and have over 7 years of experience of deliverying training. I take pride in the quality of my training delivery. I have written several training materials and delivered bespoke trainings to professionals at various levels on smoking cessation service provision and support; on a 1-2-1 and in large groups. My pharmacy background has helped in establishing and fostering my working relationship with the LPC and CCG pharmacy team. This has helped greatly in setting up a very effective stop smoking service across Wandsworth. As a member of the respiratory CRG group, I help in deciding projects that should or not be funded, and I consult for the CVD CRG group. My most recent work with the Wandsworth CCG was Quality Premium; GP surgeries across Wandsworth were required to make and record 4,800 referrals in less than six months. The target was not only achieved but overachieved.
