About Cory Prasch

With over five years of experience in nursing education and 20 years of practice, I am a nursing instructor and CMA program director at Columbia College, where I teach, develop, and coordinate courses and programs in various nursing topics and modalities. My mission is to provide inclusive, evidence-based, and student-centered instruction that prepares future nurses and medical assistants for excellence in their careers. I have successfully redeveloped online and in-seat nursing courses and keep my courses current using innovative and evidence-based teaching practices. During my time as the CMA director, enrollments increased, and the program has a 100% success exam pass rate. For the nursing programs and CMA programs, I am experienced with simulation using Laerdel simulation programs following INACSL standards, and created patient care scenarios using live actors, as well created lab content for both programs. I have also collaborated with healthcare and community partners to meet the healthcare needs of the public. Additionally, I have been actively involved in campus-wide and departmental committees and initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, teaching and learning, and assessment and curriculum. I am committed to advancing the quality and impact of nursing education and practice in my field.
