About Courtney Schellin
Courtney Schellin graduated from Southern Methodist University in May 2014 with a B.A. in journalism and a B.S. in sport management. Schellin just finished her position as a writer for ESPN where she covered NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA men’s basketball and NCAA men’s football. She was also the team lead on SportsNation and Instant Awesome platforms. She worked on the personalization team creating blogs and cards to personalize each team page on the site so each visiting fan receives a unique experience. Prior to writing at ESPN, Schellin was a production assistant at ESPN at their headquarters in Bristol, CT where she was responsible for cutting highlights for Sportscenter, clipping off game plays for the ESPN app and cutting shows/games for re-air. At SMU, Schellin acted as the executive producer in the creation of SMU's first ever student-run sports show "Press Pass." Schellin was the host & producer of Dave Campbell's Texas Football's online sports show Double Coverage. She also was a sports writer for the website. She also was a broadcast intern with the Dallas Cowboys, where she was responsible for various in-game production responsibilities. Schellin was also an assistant video coordinator for the SMU Football Department & has been for the past four years. Schellin has a passion for sports reporting, but has covered many stories not pertaining to sports. Prior to joining Dave Campbell's Texas Football, Schellin acted as a staff writer for both Fansided's SportDFW.com & The Daily Campus. Schellin was also a contributing writer to many different sites including Pegasus News, Rivals.com & Dallas South News. She has also had broadcast experience with Scout.com & announcing at SMU Basketball games. As for volunteer internships, Schellin has worked with ESPN College Game Day for the NCAA 2012 opening football game & ESPN Dallas for 2013 draft day.
