Ophthalmologist and Experienced director of learning in Public health. Demonstrated history of working in the medical and public health education. Skilled in Clinical ophthalmology, Medical Education, Epidemiology, and Capacity Building for International eye and ear health programmes. Lead educator and project director for open education in eye health at London school of Hygiene and Tropical medicine. Also a Fellow with the centre for distance education at the University of London, worldwide, which promotes research and collaboration in distance education. Equipping clinician to make decisions based on evidence and relevant to their specific health system has been the principle for developing and leading the open courses in- Ophthalmic epidemiology- Planning and managing eye care for the prevention of blindness- Establishing and managing services for Diabetic eye diseases and - Retinopathy of prematurity- In collaboration with WHO technical officer, developed a first online global programme for Eliminating trachoma. Developing the innovative approach in Open Education in Eye health (OEEH) was based on a collaborative approach to strengthen learning in the eye health sector and engaging in innovation in higher education. This model addresses inequities in higher education associated with limited access, lack of affordability and quality of available resources. The scale up work was funded by the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust and Seeing is Believing programme. OEEH received the National Collaboration award for Teaching Excellence 2019 from Advance HE and Quality In Care Award for Diabetic eye diseases: strengthening programmes. In 2021, this content had over participants across 180 Countries.
