About Dalena Phan

I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Health, with a deep passion for addressing health disparities and promoting equitable access to quality healthcare. This summer, I am gaining hands-on experience as a Graduate Intern with Columbus Regional Health, where I’m applying my skills and expanding my knowledge in real-world public health initiatives. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Health Science with an Interdisciplinary Health Science concentration, complemented by minors in Human Developmental and Family Studies, Psychology, and English. As a proud first-generation, income-eligible (FGLI) college alum, my academic and personal experiences have shaped a strong commitment to health equity and culturally competent care, fueling my desire to uplift historically marginalized communities. My interests focus on health communication, health policy, and cultural sensitivity within healthcare systems. I am especially committed to ensuring that healthcare services are inclusive, accessible, and effective for all communities, particularly those historically underserved. Beyond my academic and professional pursuits, I am passionate about community service. As a proud member of the largest collegiate co-ed service fraternity in the United States, Alpha Phi Omega (APO), I actively engage in volunteer initiatives centered around leadership, friendship, and service. I am eager to continue growing in the public health field and contribute to initiatives that bridge gaps in healthcare access and understanding.
