About Dan Barnard

I bring three significant areas of strength to the art of arts presenting, which enable me to take a markedly different approach than many of my colleagues: A terminal degree as a composer gives me a depth of understanding for the artistic product I sell. A twenty-year career as a collegiate educator helps me understand how to make meaningful connections to the college community. And a collaborative spirit enables me to forge partnerships with like-minded organizations and individuals, which strengthen both of us. This unusual skill set has enabled me to thrive in an uncertain environment, and to program from an "art first / marketing second" perspective. It helped me win the ASCAP/CMA Award for Adventurous Programming. And it has helped me provide strong leadership and vision for a brand new hall in South Texas, a chamber music series in Erie, PA, and the revitalization of an underutilized PAC in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
