I'm a 25 year veteran of the New York Mercantile Exchange where I traded crude oil, natural gas, unleaded gasoline and heating oil futures contracts. OilPrice.com says I'm considered one of the world's leading energy market analysts. I've devoted over 30 years to expanding my knowledge and developing a unique perspective of the energy markets. After graduating from State University of New York at Stony Brook, I joined the floor at the New York Mercantile Exchange, where I traded my own accounts in energy futures: crude oil, natural gas, gasoline and heating oil until 2010. Starting in 2002, I appeared as an energy analyst with all the major financial news networks including: CNBC and Bloomberg and nationally on MSNBC, CBS, NBC and CNN. I've written hundreds of columns for Jim Cramer's thestreet.com and realmoney.com as well as oilprice.com. I'm also the author of many energy articles published in NYMEX and other energy trade journals and was the featured cover story in the October 2013 issue of Futures magazine. I have authored three books on the energy markets:"Turning Oil Green: A Market-based path to Renewables", published in November 2020, “Shale Boom, Shale Bust: The Myth of Saudi America,” published in 2014, and “Oil’s Endless Bid: Taming the Unreliable Price of Oil to Secure Our Economy,” which was named to Bloomberg/Business Week’s top business book titles list in 2011. Since 2018, I've been helping investors navigate the energy markets through my "Energy Word" service, available at dandicker.com. I focus on finding value and delivering profitable trade ideas in both fossil fuel and renewable stocks, as I have done successfully for my own portfolio for nearly 35 years.
