Physical training is essential to Dan's happiness and energy, and he loves training with his friends and sons. Dan also practices the “Good News” approach to life. Even when life is very tough there are more blessings and things to be thankful for than situations to complain about. Joy in life increases when you give thanks for what you already have. Dr. Dan’s Resume of Life: Family Man – Dan arranges the other aspects of his life around family. He relishes his role as father, husband, grandfather, brother, son, and uncle. Noted Psychotherapist – Dan has worked in the field of mental health for 44 years and has had a private psychotherapy practice for the past 35 years. He loves working with individuals, couples and families as they navigate the trials and transitions of life. Triathlete – Dan loves training and racing with his sons and friends. He has been competing in triathlons for 25 years and has completed 6 Ironman Triathlons, all since turning 50! Teacher – Dan has enjoyed teaching family psychology and behavioral health at the graduate level at several universities, including the University of California, Davis Medical School. Author – Dan co-authored Health In A Heartbeat: A 6 Week Program for Emotional and Physical Fitness with his dear friend and mentor, Sally Edwards.
