About Dan Sun

As a postdoctoral researcher at The University of British Columbia, I apply my data science expertise to various projects in the fields of physics. I design and implement predictive models for complex datasets, using machine learning techniques such as XGBoost, and effectively communicate data insights to non-technical stakeholders. I have a PhD in Physics from the University of Toronto, where I conducted quantitative research and development on materials science, nanotechnology, and quantum computing. I have also worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory and Max Planck Institute, collaborating with international teams and publishing multiple papers in high-impact journals. I am passionate about contributing to the growth and success of organizations by leveraging my skills in data analysis, statistical modeling, and programming languages such as Python, C++, and SQL.
