About Daniel Berriman

I'm passionate about Cornwall, about geology and historic mining, about maps and now data!Over the past 25 years in the industry, I have amassed a wide knowledge covering aspects of subsidence risk appraisal, designing and implementing investigation procedures and liaising with engineers, architects and clients on remediation schemes.I spent my first fifteen years with Cornwall Mining Consultants undertaking research for conveyancing Mining Searches and supervising Mining Investigations at hundreds of private properties and commercial sites across the Southwest. I have extensive experience in the interpretation of geological and mining information. The 'detective work' required to identify and safely unearth long-forgotten mine workings still gives me a great buzz. After several years leading this section of the business, I took over as Managing Director in September 2012 and instigated a 10-year project of modernisation and diversification. In 2015 I became a director at start up of Terrafirma Mine Searches [TerrafirmaIDC] and acted as an advisor to this exciting national mining data company. My major interests are typically Cornish, involving lifesaving, surfing, sailing and surfrowing.
