About Daniel de Leng

Daniel is a postdoctoral researcher with a passion for artificial intelligence. His education background lies primarily within the domains of knowledge representation and agent technology. He is interested in combining techniques from these domains to those from machine learning and data science, which motivates him to keep enhancing his artificial intelligence expertise. Daniel is originally from the Netherlands, where he received both his Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Computer Science and his Master's degree (MSc) in Technical Artificial Intelligence at Utrecht University. He moved to Sweden in 2012 as part of his Master's thesis work at Linköping University to pursue research problems related to intelligent autonomous vehicles, where he later became a PhD student under the supervision of Fredrik Heintz in 2014. During his research he focused primarily on the problem of incremental reasoning over rapidly-changing information, also known as stream reasoning. In December of 2019 he successfully defended his doctoral thesis on "Robust Stream Reasoning Under Uncertainty", with Nick Hawes (University of Oxford) as his opponent.
