About Daniel Tilgner

Currently working as a developer for the state of Oregon Public Employees Retirement System. I create and modify tools used internally by a wide range of teams within my division mostly utilizing C#, VB, and SQL. My skills are in designing, analyzing, and writing code in many varied implementations. My strengths are in Java, C#, and Python, but I have written projects in C and C++, PHP, ML, SQL, and VB in addition to working in COBOL in a mainframe environment. I can adapt to new languages and algorithms very quickly and am always looking to expand my knowledge base and skill set in that regard. During my time at UNCW, my main accomplishments are: • Developed and produced corporate training software for the UNCW Information Technologies department; the software is marketed to trainers at private businesses who can use the software platform as a means to manage training modules. • Designed and created the Android mobile game Rhetoric in which users play a head-to-head word game based on speed and complexity; the game uses local code that is uploaded to a server, which then compares and sends information back to each respective device. • Collaborated with another designer to create a Java based solver for the board game Ricochet Robots; the solver works by utilizing a breadth first search or a branch and bound algorithm to determine the optimal path in the fewest amount of moves for any board configuration in less than two seconds.
