About Daniel Williamson

With over 16 years of policing experience, I have served in a wide range of operational and strategic roles, including custody, neighbourhood, response, investigations, performance and stakeholder management, and public protection. I have also worked as Staff Officer to a Chief Superintendent, supporting the coordination of policing across South East England.Currently, I work in Public Protection & Vulnerability where I previously led the Modern Slavery and Organised Immigration Crime (MSOIC) Team, providing specialist advice on safeguarding, investigations, and National Referral Mechanism processes. Alongside this, I served as the operational lead for Violence and Intimidation Against Women and Girls (VIAWG), working to make the railway network safer for women and girls, and supported the strategic lead. This role involved contributing towards national working groups, shaping safeguarding strategies and cultural changes.Having authored a successful £4.5M business case for a dedicated VIAWG Task Force, I am currently working on the implementation phase.I have designed a three-year efficiency plan achieving £716K cumulative savings, designed live‑data dashboards that cut outstanding suspects by 49% and boosted investigation compliance above 90%, delivered a local joint problem‑solving plans that reduced robbery by 19.6% and introduced biometrics compliance processes that aligned BTP with Home Office standards. These initiatives demonstrate my ability to set strategy, align it with organisational priorities, and deliver results.My career has included leading stakeholder engagement across large geographic areas, collaborating with Train Operating Companies, community groups, and external agencies to reduce crime and improve public confidence. I have overseen the review and implementation of Integrated Security Policing across East London and Essex. I have held Station Commander roles at multiple locations, managing frontline policing across London and Hertfordshire.Beyond core duties, I am committed to inclusion and wellbeing. As former Co-Chair of the British Transport Police Autism Association, I continue to act as a Subject Matter Expert on neurodiversity, conducting workplace needs assessments and promoting an inclusive culture. I have also served as a school governor, providing strategic oversight in areas such as finance, policy, and educational outcomes.I am passionate about creating safer environments, fostering collaboration, and delivering solutions that make a tangible difference.
