About Danielle Callahan

I am a teacher with nine years of experience. After completing my undergraduate and graduate studies at Boston University, I moved to San Diego as a part of the Augustinian Volunteer Program. I was placed at St. Patrick School for my year of service, volunteering as their technology and physical education teacher. After completing my year of service I remained in San Diego, teaching fourth grade. In these nine years I've accomplished very much and have been an extremely active member of our staff. This included moderating our Student Council, creating our yearbook, and coaching volleyball, basketball and track. Not only have I been involved in our extracurriculars but I have been heavily involved in our curricular development as well. During my time at St. Patrick School I have been an active member of the Diocesan fourth grade cohort, sharing best practices with colleagues. I've served as a Math Site Leader, meeting with colleagues to hear about best practices in math instruction and bringing that information back to my school site to be implemented. I've also worked as a leader at our Diocesan-wide professional development days. Lastly, I was chosen to lead a pilot of a new culturally relevant social studies curriculum. Anyone who has experienced a masterful teacher realizes there are many transferrable skills that are intertwined in such a profession. It goes without saying that I am able to work effectively as a member of a team, problem solve, and have very high amount of interpersonal communication skills. Not only that but I am able to build rapport with any group, as well as teach and mentor using a variety of strategies. I am proficient with technology, and am always looking to improve my skill as technology advances. Given these skills, I know I make a great addition to any team!
