About Danielle Davis

With over a decade of experience in education, I am passionate about creating positive learning environments that foster literacy, diversity, and student success. As an Adjunct Professor at Seattle University, I teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in the College of Education, such as Assessment, Human development, and Thriving teaching and Learning communities. I hold a Washington State Education Certification and a Substitute Education Certification, as well as a Master in Teaching degree from Seattle University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts and Creative Writing from The University of Texas at Arlington. In my previous years as a high school English Teacher, I designed and implemented engaging and differentiated curriculum and instruction for grades ranging from 9th-12th, using various project-based and student-centered strategies and tools to support their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. I also collaborated with colleagues and parents to monitor student progress and provide feedback and guidance. I facilitated extracurricular activities such as book clubs, writing workshops, and poetry slams, to encourage student creativity and expression. Some of the skills that I used and developed in this role include literacy, program development, equity, and interdependent community-based systems.
