GALLOP REPORT TOP FIVE THEMES: Achiever, Harmony, Relator, Learner, Arranger My undergraduate background is in Pre-Medical Biology, but since have found my passion in public health policy and administration. Although I have thoroughly benefited from my rounds in Emergency Departments across the United States as a medical scribe in my early 20s, I since have turned my heart to the mission of prevention. As part of my MPH degree completion, I served as a Program Coordinator for the Riverside University Health System (RUHS) Disease Control COVID-19 Response team. I was able to directly practice the skills I was learning in class while leading a team of 85 contact tracers in the new world of virtual work. During this position, I learned about county-level emergency response, health systems, health policy, and health equity. Now working as an outpatient clinic administrator for five providers, that foundational understanding has proven to be a priceless skill in understanding both clinical needs and approaches from a public health side. Upon completion of my Master of Public Health from California Baptist University in August 2021, I was honored with the Outstanding Graduate award for maintaining an excellent GPA while providing service to my community during the COVID-19 pandemic. While having a MPH is helpful in the clinic environment, I primarily utilize my education in the other piece of my job, supporting the Hemet Community Medical Group HMO as Care Coordinator. As Care Coordinator, I work with several health plans in efforts to improve the patient experience. I am currently part of a team developing an internal patient experience survey, along with the implementation and evaluation plan. I am currently studying for the Certified Public Health (CPH) examination, to demonstrate my understanding of public health processes and elevate my worth. My interests are in health and human performance, classic American literature, and exploring National Parks with my husband.
