About Danny Goderis

Danny Goderis, PhD. Head Telecom and Materials Industries. Danny started in August 2017 with Agoria. Previously, Danny was first COO (2012) and then CEO (2016) of iMinds, the digital (software) Research Centre in Flanders, Belgium. iMinds has been legally acquired by imec on October 1st, 2016. Danny has lead the integration of iMinds into imec until June 2017. iMinds had about 800 researchers at 5 universities in Belgium collaborating with 400+ partners and companies. iMinds merged with imec at October 1st, 2016. Danny has been member of the local Belgian Management Board of Alcatel Lucent (local Belgian CTO) and was leading Bell Labs in the Benelux, the Research and Venturing organization. Bell Labs in Belgium has 150 researchers and venturing entrepreneurs. Research areas include telecommunications access technologies, video technologies research, cloud computing and Internet of Things. Danny was formerly Marketing Director for the Fixed Access Division responsible for the regions Europe and Asia (DSL business of €1 billion). Danny has been general manager of the Alcatel-Lucent Venture Motive, a software product with yearly sales of €35 million in 2010. Prior to joining Alcatel-Lucent, Danny Goderis was active during several years at Belgium university KULeuven. He holds a PhD in Science and a Master’s in Physics; He also holds a Master in Business and Marketing Management.
