About Darius Midcalf

Hi, I’m Darius and I’m currently the Junior Video Editor at Dovetail Games, where I edit trailers, community specific content, sales videos and other types of content. I also occasionally help with filmed content, most recently with Francis Bourgeois and The Flying Scotsman. I also work freelance, where I’ve worked with a number of different clients including Ping-Culture, The Royal Oak Corsley, The British Hemp Company, Impact Schools, 10Yetis, amongst many others. All of these were creating video content for websites, social media, advertising etc. In a past role, I worked full-time as Cahootify’s Media Content Producer, creating promotional material, social media advertisements, and general social media output. In the role I interviewed and edited the content of Matthew Graham (Writer for Doctor Who and Life on Mars), Dr Mena Fombo (CEO of Blak Wave Productions) and Freya Billington (Filmmaker/Lecturer), just to name a few. I’m skilled in all areas of content creation from initial ideas to final output. I know a range of post-production software’s (including 3D software’s, like Blender 3D), a range of different cameras from DLSRs to high-end Blackmagic’s, I can pilot a drone proficiently, I’m multi-cam trained using a tricaster, amongst many other skills.
