About Darrell Klooster

Since August of 2013, I have been working as a Senior Loan Administrator in a Commercial Real Estate department of a West Des Moines, IA based life insurance and annuity company, working on complex servicing matters for commercial real estate loans with correspondents, upper management, attorneys and other internal and external parties. From January of 2011 to August of 2013, I was employed at Agri-Access, a division of AgStar Financial, Inc, where I was responsible for ensuring the closing of farm real estate, country home mortgage and equipment loans pursuant to company standards and precedent to purchasing loan participations. Prior to that, I was employed at American Abstract and Title Company where my primary responsibility was to research and represent matters affecting title of real estate to facilitate transactions or potential litigation. My extensive background at the Principal Financial Group included closing commercial real estate (CRE) loan transactions, acquisitions and dispositions. I also administered CRE loans for about 9 years, managing a group of Ioan administrators for about 5 years. I further served as a consultant for a regional asset management team for about 8 years, providing technical assistance with respect to commercial real estate leases, easements, CC & R's and owners associations, as well as various other legal documents affecting CRE properties owned and/or managed by the team. During my first three years with the company, I administered group defined benefit pension plans for about 120 contractholders. Specialties: I am very good at researching and analyzing matters affecting real estate as well as reviewing, preparing and negotiating loan documentation. I also have experience managing people and processes relating to several types of real estate as well as working on many special projects.
