About Darrell Stein

My experience and education are about as diverse as they come. After 1.5 years of drug analysis at the Houston Police Crime Lab, I made a lateral move and was trained to be a forensic firearms examiner. After about 10 years in that position, I was promoted to section manager and was privileged to lead a dynamic team that took the original ballistic imaging program I helped establish to national recognition. We also achieved one of the shortest turnaround times in the country. I have been honored to work with the ATF since on ballistic imaging hardware and software to target gun crime. In 2017, my career took a very different turn when I was promoted to the Director of Information Strategy, my current position. I have been working with and leading a diverse team to launch our biggest IT project ever, which included a commercial off the shelf program as well as a custom built component. As if this career path was not diverse enough, I earned an MDiv in December 2012 and have been the campus pastor of a growing church since 2013. Being a bivocational pastor has been challenging, but equally rewarding. I thrive in a team environment and in equipping/developing young leaders.
