Darren has been at the forefront of New York City’s queer culture spanning from creative direction of performances and events, to operations of the multiple establishments he co-owned, to talent booking, marketing and social media. An independent mind with 30+ year career in challenging, intensely competitive, trend driven nightlife experiences. Performance & Events - Concepted, designed and produced most performances at Club Cumming and it’s prior life as EasternBloc. Brought an eclectic array of artists, performers, musician, and illustrators to create visually stimulating events that fostered a sense of creativity and belonging within the community. Bar Operations - Managed and operated the bar with a tight attention to budget, spending, Revenue management and most importantly staffing. Partnerships - Brought forth several partnerships to the venues, including brand sponsorships, Charity affiliations and fundraising. Talent Booking - Managed and negotiated talent bookings and oversaw logistics and productions for their events. Marketing - Created all marketing materials throughout the times, from simple flyers and promotional materials to more elaborate social media campaigns and activations, spanning form traditional marketing to digital.
