Background
About David Bruce
I write thought provoking articles on interesting people, places, and issues. Adventurers, book authors, soldiers, smugglers, terrorists are all in my wheelhouse. I like to capture what they do and break it down into engaging content that makes people look at a topic through a different lens; one they haven’t looked through before. I write from a different place than most, because I come from a different place. I spent part of my formative years after high school, serving as a paratrooper in the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. After my military service, I spent 25 years in federal law enforcement. I was blessed to regularly (too regularly) travel overseas for many of those years and experience other cultures and political situations first hand. After several years of travelling and serving as a tactical instructor, a once in a life time opportunity presented itself. I was assigned to work in a writing-intensive counterterrorism position, with an emphasis on Human Intelligence. It was there that I was exposed to in-depth profile writing and realized that writing was what I wanted to do. I was so hooked on story telling that I went back to college in my 40s to earn a BA in Journalism. My specialties include profile writing, investigative reporting, firearms/gear articles, T&E, and terrorism analysis. I have relationships with several magazines for publishing and run my own blog, where I publish much of my work which is often used by established websites for content. My objective is to write well researched, engaging pieces, by telling the full story of how people arrived at where they are in life. So, my question is this: would a well written profile piece or story about your book or life help you sell your product or bring awareness to an issue? Feel free to connect and let me know!
