About David C. Egert

I grew up around translation. From the age of 13, I watched my father build his business in the language industry. Over time, I absorbed a lot; how translation works at scale, what makes or breaks quality, and how technology can either support or undermine good process. Years later — after my fine arts studies, during which I lead community projects, and built my first company — I stepped into managing our family’s translation business. The experiences I made during my student years shaped how I approach problems: creatively, critically, and always determined to question assumptions. What fascinates me isn't just words, but the machinery behind modern content production - the systems, the workflows, the decisions that quietly shape whether messages reach the right people and have the right impact. Working closely with agencies and corporate buyers taught me a lot about where language processes often fall short. Too much content. Too little strategy. Quality treated like an afterthought. It made me realize that more translation doesn’t mean better results. That’s when I started asking different questions. What really needs to be said? What’s worth the investment? How do we make language services not just a cost center, but a strategic advantage? This thinking shaped Semioticom: a company built on the belief that thoughtful, high-quality language work — done with precision and purpose — helps meaningful messages get the attention they deserve.
