About David Chong

David is a Registered Social Worker (Qualified Health Care Provider) and a Registered Clinical Counsellor - Approved Clinical Supervisor in the province of British Columbia in Canada. He received Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Victoria with specialization in child welfare and health information science, Master of Social Work degree from the University of British Columbia, and Master of Arts in Health Research (Mental Health) from Lancaster University. He has a wide range of professional practice and research experience as well as health and clinical counselling specializing in mental health. He is currently completing his doctorate degree at the University of Liverpool. David is Care Home Consultant with Vancouver Coastal Health Authority in Vancouver, Canada. He provides consultative social work services and conducts social and psycho-social assessments, preparing case histories, providing psycho-education and interventions and establish, maintaining and enhancing therapeutic relationships. He works collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary care team to support residents/clients and families by ensuring the integration and coordination of quality Long Term Care and services. David is the Director of Counselling and Psychotherapy at Oval Integrative Pharmacy - Counselling Clinic in Richmond, Canada. He provides advanced clinical and consultative counselling to individuals, couples, families and groups to help resolve mental health issues, marriage and family dynamics issues. He conducts sessions in English, Mandarin, Cantonese or Taiwanese.
