In recent decades, the budgets that large companies spend on consulting services have steadily increased. The service usually consists of making non-binding recommendations on how to behave, often based on a good overview of the respective industry. Critics regularly question whether the benefits of the consulting service justify its costs. For example, very year, 35 billion euros are spent among management consultants in Germany alone.
