Licensed professional engineer with over 35 years in power plant and process plant utility systems, particularly power and steam generation systems. Experience includes technology selection, evaluation, feasibility studies, optimization studies, conceptual and detailed design, FEED, EPC, and performance testing for various types of power & steam generation plants, industrial steam and electrical power plants, refinery & chemical process plants, LNG plants, gas turbine (simple cycle, cogeneration, CHP combined heat & power, and combined cycle) projects, and fossil utility power plants. Assignments and roles include consultant, consulting manager, technology consultant, Lender's Engineer, Lender's Technical Advisor, engineering manager, study manager, project engineer, process engineer – utilities, systems engineer, utility engineer, and mechanical engineer. Varied activities include technology selection, thermal cycle/process conceptual design, process simulation modeling (GateCycle), steam balances, utility summary, optimization, economic evaluations and feasibility studies; process flow diagram (PFD) development; process and instrumentation diagram (P & ID) development, plant performance testing; owner’s engineering; project development engineer; and lender's engineer (independent engineer) on due diligence reviews for project financing and M&A. Experience encompasses onshore and offshore facilities, with particular emphasis in complex integrated process power and steam systems in refineries and process plants, various gasification applications (IGCC, coal-to-liquids, coal-to-SNG, coal-to-urea, etc.), cogeneration CHP and combined cycle plants, LNG liquefaction, LNG receiving terminals, coal-fired power generation, and other non-typical applications. Project development experience includes concept development, financial and commercial structure, RFP & ITB preparation, equipment and EPC bid reviews, contract reviews, and contract negotiations.
